Charadrius ruficapillus
A female Red-capped Plover at Lake Tuchewop, Victoria.
Distinguished from the male by the brown loral stripe which broadens towards the eye and extends below it. The male's is black and relatively uniform in width. The female also has a brown band bordering the top of the white on the forehead, rather than a black band, and brown bands, instead of black, extending downwards at the rear of the breast.
